Etymology
架 is a phono-semantic compound:
木 suggests the concept of wood or wooden structure;
加 contributes the sound (가) and implies placing or adding something on top.
The idea: wooden pieces put together to form a rack, stand, or frame.
Over time, it expanded to mean to set up, support, suspend, and is now also a measure word for airplanes in modern Chinese.
Usage in Korean

書架 (서가) – bookshelf;
